Adiyogi Shiva
The Adiyogi Shiva Statue in Coimbatore is an iconic symbol of spiritual awakening and inner transformation. Situated at the foothills of the majestic Velliangiri Mountains near Isha Yoga Center, this 112-foot-tall steel statue represents Lord Shiva as the first yogi, or Adiyogi, who shared the science of yoga with humanity. Recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest bust sculpture, the statue was designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, to inspire self-realization and promote yoga as a universal path to well-being.
Surrounded by lush greenery and serene landscapes, the Adiyogi complex also features the Yogeshwar Linga temple and the Isha Foundation’s meditation center, attracting thousands of visitors, devotees, and yoga practitioners from across the globe. In the evenings, a captivating light and sound show narrates the story of Adiyogi, offering an immersive spiritual experience. More than just a monument, the Adiyogi statue stands as a profound reminder of India’s ancient yogic heritage and its timeless relevance in modern life.
