Coimbatore: The body of a 55-year-old man was found with injuries near Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore district, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as M Devaraj, 55, of South Street, Kurumbapalayam near Sulur. He was a goat rearer and owned 86 goats. On November 2, he took the goats for grazing in Seraiyampalayam-Vellanaipatty and did not return home. On November 5, his wife, D Lakshmi, lodged a missing person complaint with Annur police. Police registered a case and began their investigation.
On Thursday afternoon, police received information about a man’s body within the Kovilpalayam police station limits. They found Devaraj in a pool of blood with visible injuries on his body. Police recovered the body and sent it to ESI Government Medical College Hospital for a postmortem. The body was later handed over to his family.
